Bio & Schedule
American tenor Matthew Newlin is one of the most versatile tenors of his generation and inspires audiences in a wide range of roles from baroque operas to contemporary pieces.
In the 2025/26 season, he will appear as Tamino (Die Zauberflöte) at the Hamburg State Opera and once again in the eponymous role in Atys by Lully in Versailles. He returns to Berlin State Ballett for Christian Spuck’s choreography of Winterreise, before making his debuts as Parsifal in a new production at the National Opera in Prague and as Siegmund (Die Walküre) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. In the summer of 2026, he will sing the Steersman (Der fliegende Holländer) under Asher Fish at the Tyrol Festival in Erl.
